Karl Lagerfeld ventures into the Doll House again! The designer tailor Barbie the mini-edition of a Chanel dress in 2009 for Mattel's 50th birthday. Now, Emperor Karl himself becomes a plastic doll.
WWD.com reports that Mattel plans to launch the Lagerfeld Barbie later this year as part of its limited collector series.
A sketch already reveals that Karl Lagerfeld does not turn into a ken - much more will be a Barbie with a white-gray ponytail, black sunglasses, a tailored blazer, fingerless gloves and the tightest skinny pants that Barbie probably ever wore Has.
"It's just not commonplace for Barbie to dress like the most famous fashion designer in the world"; says Kim Culmone, vice president of design at Mattel. More information about Karl's stylish toy version will be available in the coming weeks.
