Upcycling: Right on trend

With many little things that seem to be scrap-to-scratch, you can create new trendy accessories, pieces of furniture or decorative elements. That way, little treasures are created out of nothing.

After the mucking is before the remodeling ! After bringing fresh wind into your linen closet and bringing all the unnecessary bits and pieces out of the corners, you should consider whether you can save some beautiful parts again in front of the hot furnaces of waste incineration plants.

With me, no part ends up in the trash, without me trying to save it. From so many things that may seem worthless to you at first, magical pieces can be created. I love these little treasures that you know are unique and are not the same one in any one else.

From an old leather football can make wonderful a bowl by some honeycombs are cut out. The solid leather is easy to shape and place on the table or on the shelf. Of course, the extravagant piece is very cliché-faithful in a male household. Following the same principle, you can transform an old globe into an individual fruit bowl or a collection point for keys and Co.

If you take a heart, and finally struggles to clear out through the cellar, you will always find hidden treasures. These are often old hard-shell cases. In addition to the new-fangled trolleys, they are more like an antiquarian archetype and are therefore a very special find. For example, you can easily make a new coffee table from it. For this you just attach a few feet in the desired height, color and shape and so creates a small table in the trendy vintage look - a real eye-catcher. Extremely practical is the additional storage space for newspapers and snacks inside the suitcase.

Individual shelves can easily be conjured up from old books. In addition, one gets in the hardware store angles, which are screwed as a holder on wall and book. With a variety of angles you can give the modern shelf a very unique flair. If you opt for a simple look, the focus is on the book itself and creates a minimalist modern look. If you take a playful iron angle in the colonial style, the design of the mini shelf is very noble.

Quite classic to the motto " make old from old " fit the typical-to-throw-away-bottles. Everyone knows the moment in which the last sip of wine is brought, which one brought from the Provence holiday, and one hears say: "The bottle can still use, which is really pretty." Stowed on the shelf, be then forget about the bottles. In addition to squeezing a single flower into the narrow bottleneck or using it as a candlestick at the next birthday party, you often do not know what to do with it. These bottles have a very nostalgic charm when used as an indirect light source. And here's my upcycling tip : To do this, you separate the bottom of the bottle and sand down the sharp edges - the glazier on site helps with that. Then you enter from below a simple light bulb socket and already exudes a new table lamp cozy atmosphere. With different glass colors and playful grains creates a unique shimmer.

My recommendation is therefore: Better to take a closer look before small treasures are banned to the landfill - this not only protects the environment, but also the wallet.

All the best,

Your Eva Brenner
