She died at just 25 years old
Peaches Geldof died at the age of only 25 years. The mother of two small sons was found dead in her home on Monday, according to the UK daily Daily Mail. We look back at the life of the famous It-Girl.
Her father, Sir Bob Geldof, is considered a national saint since he organized the charity concert "Live Aid" in 1984. Her mother, Paula Yates, was a moderator, author, a sort of early Courtney Love, more talented and, in the end, more tragic, with her pale blond hair and rock star-she died of an overdose of heroin in 2000, on the same day her sister Pixie was ten years old, Yate's lover Michael Hutchence, father of Peaches' and Pixie's half-sister Tiger Lily, had hanged himself three years earlier in a hotel room in Sydney.
Anyone who grows up in such a shock-hit family has two options: either withdraw completely from the public, like Peaches' and Pixie's older sister Fifi Trixibelle . Or go on the offensive. Peaches Geldof, whose full name is Peache's Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa, and her sister chose the latter. At 13 (!), Peaches told a journalist that a well-known fashion icon in England looked "like an anorexic transvestite." A scandal. For the Peaches was immediately rewarded with columns in a newspaper and a Girlie booklet. At 16, she hosted the reality show Inside the Mind of a Teenager. She started hanging around the stage at indie concerts, suddenly had friends, with whom she sounded like a cocktail of drinks: Peaches and Ping. With a friend she founded a DJ duo with the incredible name Trash Pussies . She had an opinion on everything from Botox (she's in favor) to the Iraq War (too), and trumpeted her out. Embarrassing. But also funny. A teenager just.
Peaches Geldof has said that she would like to be known for something other than just her surname. Something else or: the exact opposite. While dad collects money for Africa, she turned on an evening 6, 000 euros on the head. But that changed with the birth of her two sons Astala Dylan Willow (2) and Phaedra Bloom Forever (1). Peaches Geldof withdrew more and more from the public and took care of her small family. All the more surprising now her early death. Possible reasons are still purely speculative.
