November 2011: Otto Waalkes and TV star Eva Hassmann (39) announce their separation - after eleven years of marriage. He then spent the winter in Florida, working on many new ideas. Now Otto is back in Germany.
How's new as a single?
Otto Waalkes : Well, somehow you do not get to develop many feelings, you work a lot. The love comes too short, too little time. It is sweet that I receive a lot of letters, more emails and countless photos of great women.
Does it bother you when your Eva paddles with the new on the lake?
Otto Waalkes : Then I'm glad. It's nice when she's happy and I do not have to pull her out of the water when she falls in.
Do you still have the many big pictures of Eva in your Hamburg villa?
Otto Waalkes : I have to take a look, I have not been there for a long time. (He becomes thoughtful.) We were too rarely at home at the same time, that's how it is with the traveling people. At least we needed the photos from each other. At some point we were just before the alternative: we want three weeks together to Hawaii or let us divorce.
And?
Otto Waalkes : Such a holiday passes quickly, but from a divorce one has the whole life something ...
Do you still have contact with your two ex-wives?
Otto Waalkes : Why not? You know each other so well, Manuela, my first ex-wife almost a quarter of a century. I try to keep in touch with all the people I like. That's very important to me.
Can you soon get involved in a new love?
Otto Waalkes : Can this new love imagine getting involved in Otto? That's the question.
What is your only son Benjamin doing?
Otto Waalkes : Well, he's already 25 or 24? 23 he is certainly already. He studies computer design in Berlin and helps with Ice Age . He is very hardworking. More diligent than me anyway.
You are currently syncing Sid, the Sloth for Ice Age 4 ...
Otto Waalkes : That's right. I am currently sitting in front of the big screen in the dark studio, lending my voice to Sid. 750 takes, that's a hell of a lot and very exhausting.

Otto Waalkes : But it's also a big movie and that's why it's a lot of fun.
Are you doing sports in return?
Otto Waalkes : I play a lot of tennis, I have to stay fit for my tour, which starts again in 2013. There are exact dates on the Internet - I hope anyway, that I find out where I have to go.
Besides acting, music is your passion. Are you a Rampensau?
Otto Waalkes : Yes, I need that. This is my favorite drug to be on stage and to be liked.
How so?
Otto Waalkes : It is always great to feel that what I have come up with, also arrives. The stage is my first love and loyalty is mutual.
