Cape and hat come in a partner look. The knitting instructions will show you step by step how to knit the winter companions themselves.
Sizes: cape: 34/36 (38/40) 42/44, cap: 52-56 cm head circumference
Material:
- Wolke Hegenbarth Collection "Urban Roots" (97% Wool Merino extra fine, 3% acrylic, yardage approx. 60 m / 50 g)
- For the cape: 150 (200) 250 g in beige; 100 (150) 150 g each in white, red and black; a long circular needle no. 8
- For the cap: 50 g each in red, beige and black; a short circular needle no. 8
Knitting instructions for cape and cap
Smooth right in rounds:
Always knit right stitches.
Rib pattern:
1 stitch on the right, 1 stitch left on the change.
Jacquard pattern A:
Number of stitches divisible by 12. Knit counting pattern 1 in Norwegian technique, always keeping loose the unused thread on the back of the work. Always repeat the drawn stitches in width. In height the 1st-50th Work round 1 x, taking into account the declines from the 39th round.
Jacquard pattern B:
Number of stitches divisible by 6. Knit counting pattern 2 in Norwegian technique. Always repeat the drawn stitches in width. In height the 1.-28. Work round once, taking into account the declines from the 20th round.
Strip sequence A:
2 rounds black, 1 round red, 2 rounds black, 1 round white, 2 rounds black = 8 rounds in total.
Strip sequence B:
* 5 rounds of beige, 1 round of red, 2 rounds of beige, 1 round of black, from * repeat 2 more times, ending with 5 rounds of beige = 32 rounds in total.
Stitch sample smooth right:
10 stitches and 15 rows = 10 x 10 cm
The cape:
Cast on 120 (132) 144 stitches with the long circular needle starting at the bottom edge in black, close the stitches to the round and knit 8 rounds in the rib pattern in strip A for the trim.
Then continue working in jacquard pattern A, working the drawn stitches a total of 10 (11) 12 times. After 38 rounds in a jacquard pattern on the following round knit every 11th and 12th stitch on the right = 110 (121) 132 stitches.
On the 42nd round knit every 10th and 11th stitch = 100 (110) 120 stitches. On the 45th round knit every 9th and 10th stitch = 90 (99) 108 stitches. On the 48th round knit every 8th and 9th stitch = 80 (88) 96 stitches. After completing the jacquard pattern, continue to work in the rib pattern in strip sequence B, taking 10 (14) 18 stitches in the first round = 70 (74) 78 stitches.
After 32 rounds in the stripe cast off all the stitches as they appear.
The cap:
Cast on 54 stitches with the short circular needle in black, close the stitches in a round and knit 8 rounds in the rib pattern in strip A for the panel. Then continue working in jacquard pattern B, working the drawn stitches a total of 9 times. After 19 rounds in the jacquard pattern in the next round knit every 5th and 6th stitch on the right = 45 stitches. On the 22nd round knit every 4th and 5th stitch on the right = 36 stitches. Repeat these declines over the same places 3 times in every 2nd round. Firmly tighten the remaining 9 stitches with the work thread and sew.
Completion:
Make a pompon with approx. 9 cm diameter in beige and white and sew in the middle of the hat.
