"Denver" villain Gordon Thomson

The honest INTERVIEW

Although his hair is gray, the face is almost wrinkle-free and the figure as slim and lean as it was young. Hard to believe that Denver Clan villain Gordon Thomson will turn 65 in a few weeks. NEW POST talked to the actor about past times, about the death of his ex-wife Maureen, and about his plans for the future.

You look fantastic from Mr. Thomson. How do you do that?

Gordon Thomson : Thank you. I feel very good and healthy. I obviously inherited the good genes of my parents, because I do absolutely nothing for my appearance.

The TV series "The Denver Clan" made you known worldwide. Do you still remember the beginnings?

Gordon Thomson : Oh yes, at first there were only twelve episodes, but then Joan Collins joined in, luring much more viewers into the TV screens.

How was your first meeting with Joan Collins?

Gordon Thomson : Well, she greeted me with the words, "So you should play my son, but that's total nonsense. Because, darling, you are way too old! "I asked her why she was so upset, and she said, " As an actress, I never had kids older than 12! "

They played the villain Adam Carrington. Do you have something in common with him?

Gordon Thomson: We are similar. I mean, we have all the demons in us. Adam lived his life, but I do not do it. I do not like war and even cared for my cancer-stricken ex-wife until the last.

That's very unusual ...

Gordon Thomson : Yes, we had a very special relationship. I secured her financially well after the divorce, but Maureen was a fool and did not go to the doctor. It was too expensive for her, so the cancer was discovered far too late. If Maureen had been examined regularly, she would most likely still be alive.

What makes life worth living for you?

Gordon Thomson : There's a pretty saying here: If you think something makes you happy, grab it and take as much of it as you can. But also know what it is, what you grasp.

Is there another woman by your side?

Gordon Thomson : No, no. I'm too old for that.

But many women will certainly see it differently ...

Gordon Thomson : Okay, the work keeps me fit. But my energy is not limitless. I have become more selfish with the years and just want to do what I want. I've just made two pilot films for television, and that's what I'm focusing on right now.
