You need this:

  • "Evervbody print" by Lana Grossa (80% new wool Merino extrafine, 20% polyamide): approx. 1300 g in dark brown / gray / nature / jeans (Fb. 306)
  • Circular Needle No. 8, 100 cm long
  • Crochet hook No. 8 for pulling in the fringes

And this is how it's done:

Template:

BORDER: Knit in the rows on the right (right), in the back rows on the left (left).

PATTERN: Number of stitches divisible by 4 + 2 edge stitches. Knit after embroidery. The numbers li on the outside indicate the back rows, the rows on the outside. Begin the width of the rows (R) with 5 stitches (M) in front of the first arrow, continue to knit the pattern set (MS) = 4 sts between the arrows, end with 5 sts after the second arrow. In the height the 1.-4. Knit 1 time, then repeat these 4 rows. Finish the work with a back row li without an envelope (U).

Mesh sample: 13 sts and 12 rs in braided pattern = 10 x 10 cm

Instructions: Cast on 158 sts with round needle no. Knit in the braid pattern, paying attention to the edge stitches. After 170 cm = 204 sts from row on, work 1 back row in stockinette st without U and bind off sts at the same time.

Completion: stretch part, moisten and let dry. Tie in 21 fringes from Everybody Print at a distance of approx. 6 cm each over the narrow sides. Cut 4 threads of 44 cm length for each fringe, lay in half, pull in with the crochet hook, then knot. Then knot the fringes at a distance of 5 cm, offset with each other, see tip below and model picture in the detailed instructions, always use half of the threads of two adjacent fringes. The finished fringe length is approx. 18 cm.

Tie in fringes:

1) To obtain the necessary threads of the same length, wrap the work thread around a breakfast board or a solid cardboard of appropriate size. Depending on the desired length, cut the threads on one or both side edges of the board. You need double the thread length of the finished fringe length plus about 1 cm for the knot.

2) Depending on the yarn thickness and the desired volume of the fringes, lay 2 to 4 threads twice. Using a crochet hook or a hook from behind, insert the knitting section through the knit at the appropriate point, lay the threads around the open hook and carefully pull the crochet hook or the hook with the threads through the piece.

3) Now pass the thread ends from front to back through the resulting thread loop and tighten the threads. It forms a solid node. When all fringes are knotted, cut the thread ends evenly long.

4) If you prefer more decorative fringes, always knot together half the threads of two adjacent fringes. To ensure that all knots are level, carefully insert the needlestick knitting needle into the knot and guide it to the correct position before tightening the threads.

5) You can repeat this process as often as you like. You should note, however, that you need more thread length for the staggered knotting of the fringes. Therefore, before cutting the thread length, try to determine how long your threads must be.
