Princess Charlene knew the procedure already: Last year she was allowed to wave gracefully from the palace balcony on the national holiday of the Monegasque already as betrothed of Prince Albert, this time she did this as his wife. Thus, for the first time in almost 30 years in the small Mediterranean state again a princess was in the limelight. Her predecessor Gracia Patrizia died in September 1982 after a traffic accident. That Princess Caroline's still-husband Prince Ernst-August of Hanover was not present at the celebrations (church service, gala, winke appointment) did not cause much wonder. He has not been seen for three years on National Day in Monaco. For this, Princess Charlene once again made for buzz. She shone in 2010 with a strikingly large hat, so she presented this time "unkempt", but in a wide-cut costume. The result: prompt rumors about a possible pregnancy promptly went round. The Monegas know that everything is possible in principle and even more so in their own country. Nevertheless, and as you know, there is no reason officially to hide a pregnancy from Princess Charlene, especially if she has progressed so far that loose clothing has to conceal a baby's stomach.
