This moving video gets under your skin
What happens around us rushes past us too often. Time to pause, the little things and joys of life are lost. This video reminds very impressively: We should appreciate the little things as long as we can.
It is an experiment. Two people sit next to each other. A thin wall separates them, so they can only hear and not see each other. Both are asked the same questions. "What do you want?" "What makes you happy?"
The first answers sound carefree and everyday. The interviewees joyfully tell what they want, what moves them and what they enjoy.
"If I had a wish, I would sail around the Greek islands."
"I would like to work as a journalist in New York."
"It makes me happy to hear my favorite song on the radio."
From minute 01:02, the answers become much more serious - and cause those who hear them on the other side of the wall a very nice lump in the throat. They can not see it, but they suspect that their counterpart is not as well as they are. In fact, those behind the wall are affected by serious illnesses. For them, quite different topics are important:
"I wish my daughter could lead a normal life."
"I wish there was a cure for all diseases."
"Every day I see my daughter fighting for her life."
"I like to feel the wind on my face."
One thing connects them: the desire for a pain-free life, in which they do not burden anyone. But for most of them this wish will be forever unfulfilled. Very hard Tobak for all, who are doing well in life and who worry too much about it ...
The moving video of the Spanish organization AAACancer (Asociación española de Adolescentes y Adultos jóvenes con cáncer) quickly reveals how different the desires and concerns of those who fight for their lives from those of healthy people.
Her illness comes to the fore. It's the little things in life that make it worth living. A very, very good reminder: We should appreciate life with all its trifles. For when you are about to lose it, it seems to you as the greatest gift on earth.
