Once a day when only couples gave each other something and spent a few pleasant hours together, Valentine's Day is celebrated today by young and old, lovers and singles, parents and children, mates for life and best friends ... um, wait! Dads, best friends, families?

Just like this day is celebrated in the US! During the two years I've lived in New York City, every year for the 14th of this month, I have been given plenty of cards and sweets - from kids, moms, aunts and grandmothers, and from my girlfriends. Happy Birthday to me!
Felt 98 percent of my Facebook friends post photos and greetings cards for Valentine's Day, whether they have already found their better half or not. Well, where is the meaning of the day?
In spite of my ultramodern and cosmopolitan upbringing, I still think it's old-fashioned - Valentine's Day is the day of lovers, done! To all the couples out there, enjoy this day with your loved one and spend some unforgettable hours together ... you should do that any day!
To all the singles out there, celebrate yourselves and your independence, you can have a lot of fun on your own (or with your best friends) and you do not have to give an account to anyone, congratulations!
To all whose friend lives on the other side of the ocean, 50, 000 miles away from you ... You could be too pitying, just like me! Unfortunately, my friend stayed in New York City, which I do not blame him for! And while I'm sitting here in good old Germany to work on my new post for the JOY, I can only hope that I quickly find a shoulder to cry out or dust off a Lotoogewinn in order to move to my friend ... or me to buy a Maybach!
To all my friends, I unfortunately do not send you any cards and do not enrich your life with a lot of sweets. Carnival is finally over!
