What is the explanation for that? Although it looks like a sleeping giant would be under the ground, there is a less mystical explanation for the phenomenon. The roots of the trees, which are stretched far below the ground, no longer sit firmly in the ground. The trees are caught by the wind and raised with their root systems in the ground.
When they rise and fall through the wind, it looks as if the earth is breathing. It is certainly only a matter of time before the wind pulls the trees completely out of the ground.
