Karl Lagerfeld is fashion pope - and invites to the prime-time audience in the TV documentary "Karl Lagerfeld - Fashion as Religion" .

"When my mother was pregnant, she met a fortune-teller who said, " You're pregnant, you're going to have a boy, and you're going to become a bishop " : a sentence that fortunately did not come to fruition. The four-hour documentary, which airs at Vox in September, features the fashion designer in Fashion Mecca, headquartered in Paris.

His "fashion angels", models like Inès de la Fressange, Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista, "fashion saints", stars like Diane Krüger, Sarah Jessica Parker or Vanessa Paradis, the "fashion bible", the German Vogue and the "Believers", customers who love Karl Lagerfeld's fashion.

Powerful symbols, a committed community, visions and secrets, recurrent rituals, myths, beliefs or an "entangled world" - that's not only found in the great world religion, but also the mechanisms of the fashion world.

In addition, in the documentary for which the TV team accompanied the designer over 16 months: Karl Lagerfeld's career, insight into his private photo archive, the creative institutions and his entire fashion world.
