Louann Maire from the small French community of Brives-Charensac is just five years old when she and her family have to hear terrible news in November 2014. The little cute girl has leukemia. A shock for everyone involved.
To spend more time with his little daughter, her father Frédéric Maire wants to apply to his employer, the company 'Omnitrans' unpaid leave. With the answer that the father of the family receives to his application, he certainly would not have expected even in his most beautiful dreams.
Because instead of some unpaid vacation days Frédéric receives a whole 262.5 paid holidays! The reason: His colleagues have donated some of their own days off for him. The fact that so many employees got involved resulted in almost 13 months of paid holidays. For Frédéric Maire and his family, this is an unexpected and very touching gift that gives him the opportunity to assist his daughter in this difficult time and in the fight against the lethal disease.
Little Louann is about to spend three years fighting. Chemotherapy has already started. Even an operation had to undergo the little girl already. Her joie de vivre has not lost Louann. On the Facebook page, which was created especially for her, we see many pictures that show her with a radiant smile on her face.
