Privately, he is very different

TV millionaire Günther Jauch

You will be amazed!

Every wink, every gesture is familiar. Hardly a TV star knows the Germans as well as Günther Jauch. No wonder, but millions of viewers turn when the 53-year-old with "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?", "Star TV" and Co. goes on the air. But here his fans only see one face of their favorite presenter. The private, the other side is mostly hidden. Now there was a rare exception: Günther Jauch openly showed how rare he really is.

The native of Münster is an all-rounder. Whether show, talk or sport. Whether as an RTL entertainer, producer or advertising character (including for Telekom, Krombacher and source). Günther Jauch always does it perfectly. And that's worth it: He earns millions. But instead of reveling in wealth, he prefers to spend countless euros for charitable purposes - especially for his adoptive city of Potsdam, where he lives with his wife Thea and his four children (two in body, two adopted) in a villa.

And that's exactly where he introduced one of his private projects: With a huge grant he made possible a new location for the children's aid project "Arche" . He even pays the salaries of the four employees who look after children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. He used to invest in stones, "today I invest in minds, " said Günther Jauch at the opening.

Countless sad souls have already benefited from his private helpfulness. The generous donor also fights for the preservation of the rainforest, for children with heart disease in Romania, for schools and just for the beauty of Potsdam. The Fortuna portal of the city palace, the Kloebersaal in the Marmorpalais, the garrison church, the Dutch quarter - the city shines because Jauch pays. Mayor Jann Jakobs also appreciates this. TV star's confidante to NEUE POST: "We are really happy that we have such a citizen in the city who is so committed to the common good."

His modesty (according to Günther Jauch, every cent of his advertising revenue is "given away") also feels the closest environment. Thus, the former servant dispenses with opulent lifestyle. Often he goes on vacation with his sweetheart to a village in South Tyrol, he likes to ride the underground on Hertha games, he still wears his communion clock on his wrist and - also there you can be astonished - from Ash Wednesday to Easter is usually fasted.

The best symbol for the "other" Jauch, however, is probably his purse: not sinful expensive luxury goods, but a greasy leather shoulder bag. With space for driver's license, credit card and a little cash.

This has not changed since school days. Like so much in his life. Like so much that makes the real man Günther Jauch.
