Main role in TV movie about Stalker
Bad memories come up. When Kati Witt (46) was harassed in 1992 by a stalker, it was like a nightmare that had become incarnate. "I thought he was killing me, " she said then.
Now she has processed these experiences in a movie. Together with a scriptwriter and the director Bernd Böhlich, she developed the story for the Sat.1 film "The Doom", in which Kati Witt now plays the main role.
In the film, the new actress plays herself. A police officer takes a liking to her and forces herself into her life. He becomes a stalker. The result is a psycho game in which there can be only one winner. However, the film is not autobiographical. The events are to be shown from the point of view of the offender.
Katarina Witt describes her new role as an actress as a "challenge". The fear of that time seems to have overcome them.
The filming of the film has just started and will continue until mid-September. A broadcast date for "The Doom" is not fixed yet.
