It is considered to be super healthy, to help with weight loss with omega 3 fatty acids and also tastes really good: Avocados are considered the superfood par excellence. For most of us they are on a regular basis - but as we have now discovered, the fruit may not be as healthy as expected .

It all depends on how we prepare them. Because, what many do not know: Avocados should also be washed off better .

Wash the dish: negligence becomes a health risk

Fruits that have a shell and are naturally "wrapped" are usually not washed off. Why wash off, if the fruit is already protected ? For avocados, however, the extra step is worthwhile because, as the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln explains, eating unwashed avocados can be a real health risk . On the shell lurk chemicals, pesticides and bacteria, which, if we cut the Avcoado unwashed, at worst land in the pulp . We never would have thought that!

That's why the shell of the avocado is so dangerous

In the cultivation of avocados particularly many pest controllers are used. The reason for this is our high demand, which puts the producers under pressure . In order to achieve particularly profitable crops, cultivated areas are increased and pesticides are used . In the future we therefore prefer to wash the bowl thoroughly. Or just eat a little less of the superfood .
