You've never heard of this emergency feature and have never seen it on your phone before? Too bad, because this feature is - in contrast to many other things on a mobile phone - useful!
How exactly does the SOS function work?
Every Android phone has this emergency trick somewhere in the system. First, you have to deposit contacts that should be alerted in an emergency. Where to do that on a Samsung phone is explained here. Then press the power button three times in quick succession and help is called. What exactly happens: The phone automatically takes a picture with front and rear camera and sends the message "I need help - SOS" to the pre-defined emergency numbers. To do this, the location is sent via Google Maps.
If you did not already know this function, you should install it quickly, because you can save not only your own but also that of another human being. Too often, you can not manage to choose in an emergency or is in such a shock that clear thinking is no longer possible. Here, the SOS function also helps other people.
