You need this:
- white cotton fabric (take into account the dimensions of the lampshade)
- roped
- Disposable gloves
- Batik paint in yellow (craft shop)
- lampshade
- Spray adhesive (craft shop)
- scissors
- big plastic bowl for the color
- Iron
And this is how it's done:
1. At regular intervals and depending on which pattern you want to achieve, pull the fabric to small corners and tie them tight with string. The longer you set the corners, the larger the diameter of the circle becomes when batiking. If you tie several strings at a distance around a corner, several circles are formed into each other.
2. Wear disposable gloves and mix the tie dye in a large plastic bowl. Dye cotton fabric according to manufacturer's instructions. Rinse the fabric and wring it out, untie the string.
3. Hang the fabric to dry and then iron.
4. Cut the fabric to the size of the shade: Roll the shade slowly over the fabric backing and mark it with a chalk marker on the top edge and bottom edge. Cut fabric with 3 cm seam allowance for the top and bottom edges.
5. Spray the lampshade with spray glue and attach the fabric. Beat edges or seam allowance on top and bottom of the inside of the lampshade and also fix with glue.
