A long ordeal for a little pug
The pictures of the little pug-bitch Lena speak volumes: The animal had to endure a lot of suffering. But now Lena is finally on the mend.
Since October 21, the little pug-bitch Lena lives with her new owner Kirsten Vöhrenbach in Bremen and leads a life, as she probably never got to know before. However, before Lena came to the pug owner and nurse to Northern Germany, she had to travel a long journey.
Originally the little pug came from the island of Malta. Lena was found here several weeks ago. The bitch was in a catastrophic state. Lena was emaciated to the bone. In addition, the bitch is blind and suffers from the disease demodicosis, through which she has lost almost her entire coat. Everything indicates that Ms. Lena was not only severely neglected by her previous owners, but also mistreated. However, nothing is known about the origin of the bitch.
Three weeks ago, the German Hopscotch Tierhilfe published on its website a placement request for the sick bitch, which should finally get a new home. An employee of the portal dognet.de became aware of Pope Lena. She was shocked by the poor bitch's health. With the support of Terra Canis, an animal feed producer, dognet.de was able to provide Lena with decent food at short notice. Dognet.de itself is a free platform where pet owners not only have the opportunity to talk to each other, but also get valuable tips on how to keep their pets in the right place.
The dognet.de employee, who by the way is also called by her first name Lena, finally allowed Ms. Lena to come to Bremen to her new owner. She took care of the transport of the bitch from Krombach (near Frankfurt), where Lena had first come, to Kirsten Vöhrenbach in Bremen.
Lena is on the way to recovery. However, progress is only slowly becoming visible. Although Lena's dentition suggests that she is less than ten years old, her general condition is similar to that of a 12-year-old dog. Your organs are not working as they should - except for your pancreas. But her heart rate improves from week to week. In addition, her coat starts to grow very slowly again. It may even be possible to improve the eyesight on one eye. However, her health generally does not keep the little bitch from being happy and lively. She seems to feel very comfortable with her new owner.
We definitely wish Ms. Lena a speedy recovery.
