Animal friends to make your own

The teddy from fine wool is not only cuddly soft but also a real eye-catcher. The simple crochet pattern can be found here.

That's what you need for the strickteddy:

  • Cotton blended yarn (60% cotton, 40% acrylic, running length 85 m / 100 g) in gray approx. 150 to 200 g, remains in green, blue, yellow, orange and maroon
  • Crochet hook No. 5
  • 2 buttons (diameter approx. 12 cm - one in blue and one in green)
  • to fill some filling cotton or washable wool remainders

And that's how easy it is:

Basic Pattern (GM): Crochet M.

Mesh sample (GM): 12 M + 14 R = 10 x 10 cm

Left leg: Crochet 2 g sts in Green and crochet 5 solid sts in first sts. Continue to crochet in rounds in the GM in the first round doubling every M of the preliminary round = 10 sts and then doubling every 2nd st in the next round until there are 15 sts. Continue crocheting in laps without increasing. From the 6th round crochet with gray, finish with a leg length of 12 cm (= 16 rounds in gray). Stuff the leg with cotton wool.

Right leg: Crochet like the left leg but start with orange instead of green.

Left arm: Crochet like the left leg, but start with wine red instead of green and finish with an arm length of 11 cm (= 14 rounds in gray).

Right arm: Crochet like the left arm, but start with yellow instead of red.

Hull: In Gray first crochet all 15 sts of the first leg, then immediately afterwards crochet all 15 sts of the second leg = 30 sts. Continue crocheting in rounds in the GM. 24 cm from the sole of the foot, stuff the hull with cotton wool and at the left side, directly crochet the 15 sts of the left arm, at the transition between trunk and arm cut off the last fuselage stitch together with the first arm pocket, then crochet the remaining armholes, then directly afterwards Crochet the trunk again, while at the transition between the arm and trunk again cut off the two M together. On the right side, crochet the right arm as well, now the round has 56 sts. In the next round, always cut 2 x 2 sts at each of the 4 armholes, now the round has 48 sts. Repeat these decreases in the following 4 rounds, now has the round 16 M. The rest of the fuselage stuffed with cotton wool and crochet a round solid M.

For the head, double every other st in the next round = 24 sts. In the following round, spread 6 sts = 30 sts. Continue crocheting 9 rounds in the GM. Now always knit 2 M together and crochet 1 solid M before the opening becomes too small, stuffing the head with cotton wool. Then continue to decrease until there are 7 more M. Cut the thread and sew on the remaining hole.

Crochet 2 Air-Ms in Orange and crochet 3 solid M's in the first Air-M, turn with one Air-M and crochet in rows in the GM, doubling all sts in the second row = 6 sts in the Crochet 2 sts = 8 sts, crochet one more row, then use the end thread to sew the ear to the left side of the head so that the lower edge of the ear is slightly curled together.

Right ear: crochet like the left ear, but sew in blue and on the right side of the head.

Make- up: Sew on 2 buttons as eyes and embroider nose and mouth with a dark brown remainder.
