Do not touch the link!
If you suddenly see a window on your smartphone, where is your WhatsApp running? Do not click on it! That's a waste!
Incredibly brazen!
A pop-up ad that is currently appearing on many smartphones creates confusion. The advertisement mimics the design of WhatsApp and claims, "Your WhatsApp has expired soon!" One should download a new version of the app, including a "Download now" button.
Just do not click on it, it's a subscription trap !
As the page Mimikama.at found out, you end up on a page of the Dutch company "Globway BV", where you can download a WhatsApp variant - but it concludes automatically with a subscription. And that costs a whopping 4.99 euros per week!
Can my WhatsApp run at all?
Yes, that's it. Nevertheless, do not fall for any pop-up windows. Take a look in your WhatsApp , when exactly your subscription expires.
Open WhatsApp, go to "Settings", then "Account" and "Payment Info". It says, when their real WhatsApp subscription expires and how you extend it.
