Already last night, dense clouds were gathering over Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. They are responsible for rain and sleet today. Strong wind on Wednesday: At the North and Baltic Sea, "Sanne" ensures stormy winds

On Wednesday it rains mainly in the region from the German Bight to the northeast. The low then pulls partly in the form of sleet and freezing rain to the Harz and Saxony on. The snowfall limit is then at 500 meters. "In the Fichtelgebirge it gets particularly wintry with up to 20 centimeters of fresh snow, " says Claudia Salbert. The storm center warns of storm gusts on the North and Baltic Seas as well as in the upper layers of the eastern low mountain range.

Meanwhile, the inhabitants of the south can look forward to the high "Uwe". There is no rain on the Lower Rhine, in Siegerland and in Franconia as well as in the regions to Eastern Bavaria. Sometimes even the sun shines.

Thursday comes the storm

In the north and east it will be very windy and rainy on Thursday. On the North and Baltic Sea and also in mountain regions must be expected with storm gusts. Around the peaks of Harz and Erzgebirge also gale-force gusts can occur. Heavy snowfall is possible in the eastern low mountain ranges and in eastern Bavaria. Above the 600-meter mark, the storm center anticipates 10 centimeters of fresh snow. Constant rain can occur in lower-lying regions. The maximum temperature in the north is 11 degrees. In the south and west it stays dry. There are in the southwest a maximum of 5 to 6 degrees.

According to meteorologist Claudia Salbert, the low "Sanne" on Friday pulls off "slowly". Now the weather is getting better in the north and east too. Partly it is still a bit windy. In Central Germany and the southeast, on the other hand, there may still be some rain showers. The temperatures are between 2 and 10 degrees.

And what happens on the weekend? Since "we then come under high-pressure influence, " says the meteorologist. At least there is the prospect of some cheerful sections. It is to be expected with temperatures between 1 and 8 degrees.
