Visiting Haga Castle

At Haga Castle, Victoria and Daniel are just mom and dad.

They have kitchen staff and nannies. They live in a world of luxury and big banquets. But it is most beautiful for Sweden's Princess Victoria (35) and her sweetheart Daniel (38), if they can just relax on their castle Haga near Stockholm.

Then the proud parents enjoy their luck with their five-month-old daughter, play and cuddle with the little one and let everyone know: Our family life with Estelle is so wonderfully normal.

"They are the most down to earth people I know, " says a friend about the couple.

Princess Victoria takes daily long walks with Klein Estelle through the magnificent park of Haga Castle or through the forest. Behind her are one or two bodyguards, as discreet as possible. Victoria once said: "What I love to give my children is time, but also the joy of nature, I have had so much to play as a child out in the woods and in the fields, to build caves not that nature is alien to my children ... "

If Estelle is old enough, she can play in the cute children's house behind the castle, in which her grandfather King Carl Gustaf (66) was already happily romping around as a child.

In the garden, Victoria picks raspberries and strawberries so they can be eaten fresh. Even beautiful flowers that bloom abundantly there are distributed in the house.

The children's room is right next to the parents' bedroom. When Victoria and Daniel are awakened by the cry of their child at night, they alternate with getting up. Since some nights are quite short. Daddy Daniel agrees with a smile: "Every now and then there is very little sleep ..."

The breakfast time at Haga Castle is "sacred". Victoria wants to make her own breakfast and has no help from the kitchen staff. She loves to eat her "Fil" (a kind of yoghurt) and cereal in the morning, with tea instead of coffee.

The princess has no food allergies and eats almost everything. And she wants her little daughter to appreciate good and healthy food too. Her cooking is not so high on Victoria: "Daniel and I are not good cooks, most of the dishes we cook are noodles and so on ..."

And, does it taste anyway? "Yes", a friend of Daniel enthuses: "It is always very comfortable on Haga, when the two invite us to self-cooked food."
