Whoever sets up first numerology theses, expects an Illuminati code or other occult symbolism, we have to disappoint you! The real reason for the 9:41 clock loop is a much simpler one.
Scott Forestall, then senior vice president of iPhone software, said in 2010, "All of Apple's product presentations start at 9:00 am local time, with sales, achievements, and glimpses in the first 40 minutes until the new product is announced."
When Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone in 2007, the display showed 09:41 . Quite clever: That's how the audience of the press presentation thought the pictures they saw of the iPhone were live. A marketing trick that is still valid today.
Some older iPhone photos also show 09:42 clock or 09:43 clock, only later Apple put on 09:41 clock. But the basic idea remains: The displayed time should be as close as possible to that on the watches of the audience - and thus convey an I-am-if-it-happens-impression.
