Anyone who has ever enjoyed a dishwasher does not want to miss it anymore. Press the on button and it will start to wash.

The electric dish washer delivers a sparkling clean result and saves time - as long as you fill it properly. They actually exist, which make mistakes in the dishwasher . The result: Dirty plates, Milky glasses and burnt pots. Time saving: adé.

Does the cutlery come with the handle down into the basket? Does the dishes need to be rinsed? If you miss your dishwasher, you risk so many family quarrels. We show how to do it right.

Pre-rinse - yes or no?

Basically, remove food leftovers and dump the leftovers . Pre-rinsing is not necessary in most cases - with one exception: heavy encrustations, such as burnt pots or dried food, should be soaked first.

Cutlery - handle down?

Fork and spoon yes, knife no. Basically, the cutlery belongs with the handle down. The only exception: knives or cutlery that pose a risk of injury. Here prefer to let the sharp edges disappear in the cutlery box.

Long cutlery items, such as the bread knife, the ladle or the noodle tongs are not part of the cutlery basket. Better put in the top basket on the folding shelf .

Upper basket or lower basket?

In the upper basket comes everything that can withstand little heat : glasses and cups, small plates, dessert bowls, delicate dishes and slightly soiled items.

The lower basket rinses with hotter temperatures. Robust dishes such as plates, chopping boards, pans, bowls and pots can be found here.

With the opening down

Always leave the pots and bowl with the opening facing downwards. Deep plates or casserole dishes rather inclined. This allows the residual water to run better and you avoid a rinse.

What needs to be rinsed by hand?

There are a few things you should rather rinse by hand. If the dishes are not dishwasher-safe, the corresponding parts are withheld from the electric dish washer. Rinse wood boards, porcelain with decor, crystal and champagne glasses, brass or copper objects and small appliances such as a garlic press, vegetable grater or potato peel r by hand.

Use brackets

Use the glass and cup holder! Put glasses and cups staggered and make sure everything is firmly anchored.

Not overloaded

Who overloaded the dishwasher has won nothing. In the worst case, you have to run it a second time. Between plates, cups and dishes should always be a small distance . So they can be completely washed by water and detergent. Make sure that the spray arms can turn completely.

Correctly clear out

Only empty the dishes when it has completely dried and cooled. To do this, leave the machine door open a gap. Work from top to bottom! To avoid dripping hazard!
