Charlene Wittstock she talks about loneliness

Initial problems in the small principality

For decades, the Monegas have been waiting for a woman like her. We thought so far ... She is beautiful, full of grace and grace, as once Princess Gracia († 52). But now Charlene Wittstock (32), who will marry Prince Albert of Monaco (52) in July 2011, interviewed British magazine "Tatler". Openly, Charlene Wittstock talks about loneliness, jealousy and true friends.

When she came from South Africa to her new home on the Mediterranean, the beautiful swimmer often felt lonely: "The people I met here in Monaco could not do anything with my South African mentality or my humor." Charlene Wittstock did not speak French at the time so she could not make friends. At the beginning, many people did not treat Charlene Wittstock with much warmth: "Of course I was jealous. Although I have met some wonderful people here, I consider all of them as acquaintances. Only two of them became friends for me, " says Charlene Wittstock. For her, her family is still the most important thing: " My mother and my brothers are the only friends I need and trust. " But the initial difficulties have now been overcome, Charlene Wittstock is looking forward to her new job. "I want to show the world that Monaco is not just an amusing resort. I was born neither as a Monegasque nor as a princess. But I will do my job as good as I can. " Charlene Wittstock still seems a bit unreal about her new life. "Sometimes I have to pinch myself that this is my life now, that I can live in one of the most beautiful places in the world - with the man of my dreams."
