A high on the song that unites us

From "Dancing Queen" to "Purple Rain" - our talented LESER-CHOR has earned a lot of applause for his dedicated singing and swinging! A high on what unites us ": With full conviction and firm voice, the 30 winners of our campaign and their escorts agreed to the song" Auf uns "by Andreas Bourani. And that she united something, was immediately felt. But let's start from scratch: a few weeks ago, we and GeloRevoice invited our readers to apply for a choir weekend in Hamburg under the motto "Germany sings".

With best prospects

There were a lot of submissions, because for music enthusiasts the program was a dream: In the Atlantic House at the harbor, the winners met on Saturday with a vocal coach to rehearse six songs. From the penthouse, which was quickly converted into a training room, you had a fantastic view of the Hanseatic city. But even that could not distract the participants from their musical passion. "I have been singing in choir for over 30 years. But here I learn a lot more. That's unbelievably great, "said Bettina from Brunswick. Sören Schröder was responsible for the learning: "It is such a fulfilling experience to sing with the people." The experienced musician, composer and choirmaster was accompanied by singer Dani and drummer Alex.

Professional coaching

The trio rocked the room and playfully brought the hobby singers to the songs. A few minor corrections, and already every new song was sitting. "I have never met such a choirmaster, which tears us all, " said Kerstin from Berlin. "That's great fun, " added Kathrin and Christian from Salzwedel. "You also get into conversation with the others very quickly. Music just connects. "There was no doubt this weekend, because the choir harmonized perfectly. And lively conversations took place during the breaks - as if the participants of the workshop had known each other forever. "The coach is great. I really want to keep on singing after this weekend, "Raimund said. No problem - everyone got a exercise book home.

A beautiful memory

After a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in the historic Speicherstadt, rehearsals continued - on Sunday at the publishing house. After lunch, there was a city tour and a real highlight to the finale: Together with Sören Schröder, the choir - the youngest singer incidentally was eleven, the oldest 80 years old - recorded a CD with the newly learned songs, all participants will always remember this dreamy weekend. Coach Sören had set the following for this event: "People should have fun and be happy." In conclusion, all those who attended were able to say that this was 100 percent successful. A high on this dedicated singer!

"Maintain your voice"

You speak a lot? You are often hoarse? Speech therapist BEATRICE RATHEY-PÖTZKE from Kiel explains what helps .

1. Much fluid is important. Drink two liters of water daily or more.

2. If you are hoarsely you should not whisper, because that makes the vocal folds even harder. Do not try to speak softly, but consciously loose.

3. Clearing becomes a habit. But that promotes the formation of slime, your voice gets into a vicious circle. If you feel the urge to clear your throat, you should rather cough gently. Or hum as loosely as possible in a medium pitch while beating your chest with your knuckles.

4. When an infection weakens the body and voice, special tablets from the pharmacy provide more well-being. When sucking, they form a so-called hydro-depot. It lays like a protective film over the irritated mucous membrane in the mouth and throat for a long time. Minerals and a slight effervescent effect also stimulate salivation.
