At 66, Eveline Hall looks great. And has nothing less in mind than to retire. Finally, the woman from Hamburg is just starting out in the fashion business.
Simply brilliant, pretty brave or completely crazy? Admittedly, the idea of producing a fashion series with Eveline Hall has already been discussed in the editorial board. But we soon agreed that she was the perfect model for the Seventies-style pattern mix . Because she looks great at the age of 66 - but also a very idiosyncratic type of woman. Because she has worn all those weird prints "in the original" and therefore really stands for this trend. And of course, because she is currently one of the most sought after models . International fashion magazines are just as much about them as fashion labels. More than unusual in such a youth-oriented business. But that's not the only thing amazing about Eveline Hall ...
What did you do before your model success?
I was a ballet dancer. At 24, I received a call from the "Lido", the well-known revue theater, and was allowed to choose between a commitment in Paris or Las Vegas.
Of course you chose ...
Las Vegas! I finally wanted to experience something! I immediately got the contract: one leg kicked and the thing was perfect. A few years later I returned to Germany - at the Hamburg Thalia Theater they wanted such an exotic bird as me. After that I played on different stages for 20 years.
And how did you suddenly become a model?
The idea came to me one night. And then I was so convincing that nobody could say "no". I used to act as dancer for houses like Balmain on the catwalk. The breakthrough came in 2011 with the Michalsky show in Berlin .
The fashion loves revivals, as now the retro pattern. Is that the same for you?
Naturally! I'm from the Mary Quant generation. I still love the miniskirts she invented today. Sweet costumes, dainty waists, a tight skirt and such heels ... (She shows 15 cm high heel with thumb and forefinger and laughs.) So I walked through the area. I've been in every fashion Those were also very creative years in terms of design.
To look your age - compliment. Please tell us the trick!
I use a lot from the kitchen . From coffee I conjure up, for example, a scrub and a mask. I do not do much more for my face. I eat like a barn thresher, I've never starved, for which I sleep a lot. And I do a mixture of dance and sport for 45 minutes every day. It's like brushing my teeth. I could never stop it - I think the house of cards would collapse too.
Are you thinking about your age?
To be completely honest, I am only beginning to do so now. But only a little! Before that was never an issue. I just always wanted to get involved. Many things have come up and I have never had the ambition, with 50 you have to do something very, very big. The little luck and a lot of fun - that's important to me.
