The frontrow stars of haute couture

The streetstyle season Spring / Summer 2013

Not everything that walks down the catwalk is haute couture. The prerequisite: a 35-piece collection of handcrafted individual pieces, made by at least 15 employees in Paris. The term is even legally protected in France. Since the cost of such an exclusive collection is immense, very few fashion houses afford that luxury. So much exclusivity also lures fashion-loving stars to France.

Haute Couture (tailor-made tailoring) is the tailor-made creation of major fashion houses. They are created just for the catwalk - and for a very exclusive circle of customers. Worldwide, there are only a few hundred women who can afford haute couture, because a unique cost almost never under 10, 000 euros - usually much more.

No wonder that even stars can be lured by these designs of the premier class to Paris and the noble shows look like from the front row.

Actress Clémence Poésy presents the perfect look for the occasion on the Chanel show. The Frenchwoman combines parts of the designer label with personal favorites, creating a sophisticated look that balances between high fashion and understatement. Bravo!
