The female body as a selling point? No thanks!

After his fashion co-op with H & M designer Alexander Wang, the next media hit is already out: he launches his own jeans line and brings out two eye-catching semi-nude campaign pictures for the promo.

For the jeans campaign by Alexander Wang, the German supermodel Anna Ewers either lets her pants down or pulls up blank. The story behind the shoot? Alexander Wang's denim line is so hot that the covers fall, the jeans motivate for self-love or simply (and probably): sex sells.

Innovative, new and really provocative is nothing at all about this jeans campaign and the main nude strategy. Using the naked female body as an advertising medium, we just find completely outdated and retrograde.

Designer Alexander Wang told WWD: "It's not provocative in a sexual sense, it's provocative to start a discussion." He did not want to pretend the message behind the advertisement. "The interesting part is how people interpret it and what they have to say about it, and of course there will be people who do not like the campaign." Japp, that's right.
