How often do I have to change my toothbrush?

Once in the morning and once in the evening, maybe in between - brush your teeth. Not only because we can look forward to bright white teeth, but also because it keeps the oral cavity clean.

But hand on heart: how often do you change your toothbrush? Once a month or once a year?

Change toothbrush every 8-12 weeks

First of all: Changing the toothbrush once a year is not enough. And twice too. Dentists recommend replacing an old toothbrush with a new one every three months. Why? Because then the cleaning effect wears off. The bristles of the toothbrush bend, break off or become dull. And so can no longer reach the interdental spaces completely.

A toothbrush is the optimal breeding ground for germs, bacteria and fungi. If you want to play it safe, you should change your toothbrush after just eight weeks. In addition - after brushing, rinse the brush thoroughly under running hot water. Only in this way can food and toothpaste residues be completely removed.

Toothbrush always change after a cold

Important! After a cold, sore throat, herpes or gingivitis, replace the toothbrush immediately with a new one. The germs in the brush can trigger new infections.
