What you need for the soap cupcakes:

Recipes Floating Soap Topping (Meringue or Whipped Soap)
The formula should always contain at least 70-80% solid fats.

  • 83.9 g NaOH (8% superfatting)
  • 200 g of distilled water ● 250 g of coconut oil (41.67%)
  • 250 g shea butter (41.67%)
  • 100 g olive oil (16, 67%)

Or:

  • 86.9 g NaOH (8% superfatting)
  • 200 g of distilled water ● 250 g of coconut oil (41.67%)
  • 250 g palm oil (41.67%)
  • 100 g rapeseed oil (16.67%)

You also need:

  • Disposable jetting bag with spout

And this is how it's done:

For the bottom parts of the cupcakes you can take a basic recipe and then pour the soap paste into small cupcake silicone molds. If you want to make the topping with normal soap glue, keep about half of the glue back for it. After you have also dyed and scented this glue, you stir it until its consistency is that of a firm pudding. The glue has to stay clear if you stab a spatula. Then you can put the mass in a piping bag with spout and squirt on the cupcake bottoms.

1. From NaOH and cold water, taking into account the safety rules, prepare the lye, put aside and allow to cool.
2. Bring the solid fats either at room temperature (they must be very soft!) Or melt them and then allow to cool until they are almost solid again. Then turn everything up with the hand mixer until the fat turns white and fluffy (this requires a little patience).
3. Then add the liquid oil and stir again until a homogeneous, white, loose mass is obtained.
4. Slowly pour in the cold lye and stir well with the hand mixer. (In this topping, it is really important that the entire mass combines with the lye.) If necessary, mix everything well with a spatula and work through again with the hand mixer.)
5. Now you can color and scent the mass. Attention: Floating Soap turns to lightning when thickening perfume oil! Colors appear in floating soap always pastel than in normal soap glue.
6. Now provide the disposable piping bag with the grommet, put the grommet down in a tall glass and put the end of the bag over the edge of the glass. This allows the bag to be filled easily with the whipped soap mass.
7. Spray the soap mass in the desired shape as a topping onto the prepared cupcake base.

Tip: In my experience, the decoration succeeds a little easier and more evenly, if you first put a small soapy polka-dot in the middle of the cupcake pedestal and then splashed around the actual topping around this speckle: The topping builds up beautifully with this method and falls not together.
