A very special father-daughter dance

Kirsten Mundell's father, a police officer, died six years ago. He could not attend his daughter's wedding. That's why his colleagues prepare her a very emotional surprise on her very special day.

Six years have passed since the death of Ken Mundell. The Sheriff of Pierce County (Washington) died in action. Last weekend, his daughter Kirsten married. Unfortunately, her father could not experience this special day in the life of his daughter, but a special surprise of his colleagues was reminiscent of the deceased bride's father in a beautiful way.

Even before the wedding, Kirsten had asked a Kent colleague, Detective Don Jones, to take her to the altar as a substitute for her father. What the young woman did not plan was the father-daughter dance . As it turned out, she did not have to. When it was time for the dance, Don Jones made the beginning. Then something happened that the bride could not have expected.

Gradually, they invited various colleagues and good friends of her father to dance. "He said, 'There's a whole line waiting for you there, ' and then another policeman took over, and then I collapsed, " the bride said in an interview with KOMO.

It was a very special moment for all present. Detective Don Jones says, "There was no one in the room who did not cry, I mean, even the photographer was crying at that moment, everybody was crying, it was very moving."

The pain of the loss of the bride's father is still unforgotten. "Everyone who knew Kent was deeply hurt, not just his family, but all the people who knew him, even if they had only seen him once or twice."

Through her beautiful and very moving surprise, the colleagues of Kirsten's father have revived the memory of him. But even the bride herself had already made arrangements to have her father around her on this special day.

In the first row, a chair was reserved for Kent Mundell . Not only his jacket was hanging there, but also a picture of the deceased father of the bride. In addition, Kirsten's wedding dress was laced with a blue bow, which symbolizes among other things in police circles respect.

But nothing touched Kirsten Mundell as much as the gift she got from her father's former colleagues . She herself said, "I know they are always there for me when I need them, yet I never expected them to just show up, it was the best wedding surprise I could have had."
