Four days work, three days weekend

Just the thought of having only a four-day week and a three-day weekend is almost too good to be true. And then it should also be good for our Geusndheit.

What would we do with the additional free time when suddenly every weekend would be extended by one day? Would we travel more often? Take more city trips? More often visit our friends, who are scattered all over Germany? Or just put your feet up for a day longer and let the stress be stressful?

Currently, the three-day weekend is not a reality. But if it were up to the British scientist David Spencer, we would soon have to deal with the question of what we would do with the free time gained. Because Spencer is an advocate of the extended weekend. He demands that four work only four days a week and have three days off - without having to submit a vacation day. Even without a justification, most would probably now agree more with Spencer's idea.

But the Professor of Economics and Political Economy at the University of Leeds, UK, has not come up with the three-day weekend to please many of the world's employees and give them more free time. As David Spencer himself writes, several studies have shown that longer working hours endanger our mental and physical health . In addition, the risk of stroke, heart disease and type 2 diabetes can be increased.

In addition, Professor Spencer believes that we have less time to evolve and discover our talents when we are mainly busy with the work. It restricts us.

Of course, we can not predict whether Spencer's idea of the four-day week will ever be implemented. But he has definitely convinced us.
