Melanie (20) from M hlheim (NRW) has been almost blind since the age of six. Your heart's desire: cycling again. A donation call for Melli.
Melanie, named Melli by her friends , had a stroke at the age of six . Born in Mühlheim, Germany, she did not just have to learn to speak and walk. Since the stroke, the 20-year-old is almost blind.
Melli has one heartfelt wish: She wants to ride a bike again. But she needs a special bike for that: a tandem with training wheels so that her mother can sit in the front and Melli in the back. "I want to feel the wind in my hair again, " enthuses the young woman, whose life has changed forever.
The health insurance has refused a financial contribution. The argument: Melli would not need a bike, she was blind anyway.
The non-profit organization Rolli Rockers Sprouts would like to help Melli to fulfill her wish. Bern Nierhaus, a member of the association, sat down with Melli in front of the camera and published the following donation appeal on the Internet:
The special tandem bike for the blind costs between 1, 500 and 3, 000 euros ( sum in the video above was too optimistic ).
If you want to donate, you can do it here:
Sparkasse Mülheim an der Ruhr
Intended use: Melli tandem
IBAN: DE71 3625 0000 0175 1033 17

Every sum counts - be it ever so small! If 3, 000 people each donate 1 euro, Melli can cycle again after 14 years! Join in and fulfill the young woman's heart's desire <3
