Here it is black and white

The checkerboard pattern quickly brings timeless chic to the kitchen - as a houndstooth on the sideboard, graphic play on the lunch bag and saying on the coffee mug.

prime example

Lunch bag instead of haversack: The self-sewn bag in black and white makes you want to have a lunch break.

You need: fabric, 90 x 45 cm (eg from Colorblindpatterns about Etsy), 2 leather bands, each 1 m long, ruler, scissors, sewing machine, yarn

That's how it works:

Step 1: Cut fabric with 2 cm seam allowance each. Once with 20 x 75 cm size, twice with 13 x 30 cm.

Step 2: Lay down a long piece of fabric in front of you, fasten the side panels on one side of the long fabric panel - one at the top and one at the bottom - flush with the outside edge and right side to the right and sew on.

Step 3: Turn over the long piece of fabric, pinning it to the right sides of the loose edges of the side panels. Then put the two open sides together at the bottom. Sew all edges, turn lunchbag.

Step 4: To attach, sew the leather straps to the top edge from the center of one side.

DIY ideas from the fashion sector. The fashionable perennial also dresses the sideboard: as a pattern of mosaic tiles.

What you need: mosaic tiles (eg "chessboard" by Mosafil), grout, scraper, sponge, polishing cloth, ceramic glue (hardware store)

That's how it works:

Step 1: Remove the individual mosaic stones from the net and glue them tightly together with the glue on the shelf of the sideboard. If you just want to, the tiles can be simple
let it dry - done. For a more professional variant, mix the grout according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply with a scraper. Carefully work into the joints.

Step 2: The excess mortar can be dried after drying with a damp
Wipe off the sponge carefully. Then clean the entire mosaic again if necessary and polish with a soft cloth.

Tip: If you are not a fan of white grout, you can also use the inconspicuous transparent version!

Be creative: even the coffee mugs should carry your personal signature in black and white .

You need: white cup (eg from Ikea, approx. 3 €), "Porcelain Painter" contour pen, black (from the craft shop)

That's how it works:

Step 1: Clean the surface of the cup thoroughly.

Step 2: Decorate with lettering or picture, let it dry. So that the motif becomes dishwasher-safe, let the color burn in the non-preheated oven at 150 degrees for about 30 to 35 minutes.

Our DIY ideas tip: Coffee mugs are great for congratulating friends. Just wrap around a nice bow and present it as a small gift.
