Would you do it?

For 20 days, knowing when someone you've never met in person will get up, ride your bike, or go to the movies? And the other learns that in return from himself? That's exactly what the new 20-day Stranger App is currently being developed for, which is currently being developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values.

Sounds scary at first, sharing everything with a stranger. However, as the developers of the app assure, the users of the 20 Day Stranger App remain completely anonymous. It's not so much a voyeuristic streak as opening a window to get a glimpse into another life and becoming more tolerant and understanding .

The app uses the motion sensors of the iPhone as well as location information, which are not accurate to understand the life of the other. For example, the first movement of the iPhone in the morning detects when the user gets up. In addition, it can also be determined on the basis of the speed of movement, whether the user is currently moving on foot, by bike or car.

To share photos from the current location with the other, the app uses Google Streetview, Foursquare and Instagram . This visual support should make it easier to feel in the other one. By connecting users to remote locations around the world, the experience should be particularly rewarding for both sides.

Currently, the 20 Day Stranger app is in beta and is still under test. However, a registration is already possible on the side of the app. How the app works, you can see in the video below.
