Finally snow-free: 50-year-old school principal sings Let It Go parody

A school-free snow day is reason enough to be happy. But if the school director announces the good news with a Frozen parody, there is really no stopping.

No question: In the meantime, almost all of us can sing along at least the chorus of the world-famous song Let it go from the Disney movie 'The Ice Queen'. With the abundance of cover videos, which revolve around the Oscar-winning song, that is no wonder.

But what made the Moses Brown School in Rhode Island the song lines of 'Let it go' is definitely something completely new. Principal director Matt Glendinning took advantage of arguably the most popular Disney song of all time to tell his students that the school is down. It is snow free! The reason for this is the ongoing snowfall in the United States.

Which song could fit better than the title song from the Disney movie 'The Ice Queen'? In the frozen parody video, which has been online for just over 24 hours and has been clicked more than 1.2 million times, principal Matt Glendinning has been demonstrating his talent for more than four minutes. Dressed in a hand-knitted cap and scarf ensemble, he shows how funny the head of a school can be.

The idea for the Frozen parody with the fitting title 'School is Closed' originally came from Adam Olenn, head of the public relations department of the Moses Brown School. He re-wrote the text of the Disney song. He should not have needed more than 15 minutes for that, as he told WBUR News. Incidentally, 'School is out' is not sung by Headmaster Matt Glendinning - even if it looks like that. The voice of the school choir director Justin Peters can be heard.

We take a hat off to such a creative parody. Our headmaster would have been able to announce a school-free snow day.
