Ingredients:
(for four persons)
- 250 grams of dried chickpeas
- 750 milliliters of water
- 1 finely diced carrot
- 1 branch of smooth parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 chopped garlic cloves
- 1 finely chopped red onion
- 2 roughly chopped tomatoes
- 250 grams of chopped chard
- salt
- pepper

Preparation:
- Soak chickpeas overnight in plenty of cold water.
- Drain, rinse and place in a large saucepan with the specified amount of water. Add carrot, parsley sprig, bay leaf and onion. Bring to a boil, at the same time draw a foam from a surface. Simmer on a low heat for 20-25 minutes until the ingredients are tender.
- Meanwhile fry garlic and red onions in olive oil for 3 to 4 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook for 5-6 minutes with frequent stirring.
- Add to the chickpeas and stir in the chard. Now salt and pepper, then boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 5 to 6 minutes. Fill in preheated bowls.
