Photo: deco & style

Romantic candlelight

On cold winter days we make ourselves comfortable at home. These three DIY ideas for lanterns are the perfect companions for this time.

This is what you need for the lanterns made of preserving jars:

  • jars
  • different ribbons in different widths (craft shop)
  • white acrylic spray paint
  • tealights
  • scissors

And that's how easy it is:

1. Wrap preserving jars with ribbon in different widths as desired and knot them backwards.

2. Spray with acrylic varnish and let dry.

3. Put in tealights.

What you need for the paper lanterns:

  • Paper sheets (Scrap sheet no. 51 Art.No .: 7007.051, Scrap sheet no. 53 Art.No .: 7007.053, 30, 5 x 30, 5 cm, each 0, 50 € vwww.idee-shop.de)
  • Kerzenglas
  • paper scissors
  • glue stick

It's that easy:

1. For the paper lantern, cut out a rectangle according to the circumference of the candle and the glue seam x the desired height.

2. Fold the paper in the middle once.

3. Using the scissors, cut every 1 to 2 cm vertically from the bend to the edge of the open edge.

4. Open the sheet again and glue it to a cylinder with a glue stick.

5. Lightly squeeze the lantern so that the gaps open and insert the candle.

You need this for the lanterns with silver leaf:

  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Kerzenglas
  • Silver wire (craft shop, about 3 €)
  • 8 branches Lunaria dried (Silberling)

That's how it works:

1. Using a glue gun, glue two spots of hot glue on the front and back of the glass.

2. Fix the silver wire at the two points to prevent it from slipping off.

3. Wrap the short cut lunaria twigs around the glass with wire.

4. Also attach the end of the wire with hot glue.
