I asked myself these questions before my tattoo

A tattoo is a matter of the heart. Always.

A tattoo - no matter how small - should be well considered

  1. Can I make the tattoo for ME or OTHERS see it?
  2. What meaning (and no matter how insignificant) does this tattoo have for me?
  3. Do I always want to be reminded of this sad thing or do I want people to talk to me about my tattoo and also about the experience,
  4. What does this skin look like in 30 years?
  5. How is a tattoo removed?

And without compromise. And every little motive should be considered, or at least treated with a loving smile, if you think about it.

I do not like people who start with an everlasting monologue about the profound meaning of their tattoo. Above all, this is often too personal. But I always like to listen to a nice anecdote that matches the tattoo.

For me personally, there were not many crucial questions that I asked myself. Because - even if many people would deny that - to a tattoo is always a bit impulsivity and a certain feeling.

For example, my first tattoo was such a "youthful sin, " but it still reminds me of a great time and makes me feel very warm in my heart. The small heart on my ankle was stung when I had to travel home to wintry Germany after three months of travel in Melbourne, Australia. Out of sheer pain of farewell, I decided for a "memory workshop" . And although the tattoo is far from perfect, I still hang on to it today.

Idiocy will now be thought by many. But that does not really matter with a tattoo anyway, because the main thing is that you like it. A tattoo is always individual. That's exactly how the questions are individual. I asked myself these questions in front of my tattoos:

Can I make the tattoo for ME or OTHERS see it?

A tattoo does not need a message that you can tell others, but a tattoo should connect you to a person, a place or a time. That's why I asked myself the question:

What meaning (and no matter how insignificant) does this tattoo have for me?

And of course, it's clear that a tattoo is always a bit of jewelry on the skin, which should be seen by others. But if you only see a tattoo as an accessory, you might want to think again. Although, of course, that can be a legitimate reason for a tattoo.

Many tattoos also combine with sad or painful memories. For me, such a tattoo would never be questioned, because the question:

Do I always want to be reminded of this sad thing or do I want people to talk to me about my tattoo and also about the experience,

I would answer clearly with no.

And I also asked myself a question that perhaps also moves other women:

What does this skin look like in 30 years?

Sure, even old skin can look great with tattoos, but there are places that distort the tattoo more in age than make it look aesthetically pleasing . Especially everything on your stomach is in danger of being spoiled after a pregnancy. If you do not want that, you may want to choose another job.

And last but not least, no-one should be ashamed of asking the question before a tattoo:

How is a tattoo removed?

For who does not know that, that one is very convinced of a decision, but regrets it after several years yet. No one is so focused that you could not change your mind again. Even with a tattoo.

Maybe you start with a small motive and let yourself be inspired by one of these mini motives.
