The Diddl mouse turns 25 - our favorite memories

Happy Birthday Diddl!

A quarter of a century has probably already the most successful Plüschmaus behind. For this special occasion we remember back to the best times of the Diddl mouse.

On August 24, 1990, the Diddl Mouse saw the light of day. On this day, her "father" draftsman Thomas Goletz brought her to paper for the first time. Twenty-five years have passed since then. Without us realizing it, the Diddl mouse has become a quarter century before our eyes. Are there any of us who do not feel a bit old at the thought of it?

For my part, I can definitely remember the time when I exchanged individual (!) Pages of Diddl blocks during the break in the schoolyard. At that time I could actually do some really good "business". I had a block that not everyone in my circle of friends had - a real rarity, so to speak. For real connoisseurs: Diddl was sitting in a blossom and smiled friendly to a hummingbird. Why I still know what this block looked like, even though my times on the playground are a few years older? Presumably Diddl simply irrevocably sneaked into my memory.

I am reassured by the thought that I'm definitely not alone. In relation to some of my school friends I was even harmless. In fact, I only had one or two Diddl mice at home - and they were normal size as well. Presumably, one or the other will remember these oversized Diddl mice that had some children sitting on the bed at home?

Although my diddl times are long behind me (with Pimboli and Galuppy, which came later, I had nothing to do anymore), I like to remember her back. The idea that you did not buy blocks for writing, just for trading, is really funny. And when I think of my binder ...

I definitely wish the Diddl mouse all the best for her 25th birthday ! Even though their production has been discontinued, it will be remembered for a few more years.

Incidentally, I gave away my binder and all the blocks to the next generation of Diddl fans. I simply could not throw them away ...
