Concrete is a real all-rounder. Even the Romans experimented with the building material and its composition. He is considered indestructible and is extremely flexible. Concrete can be poured into various shapes and opens up many design options.

Whether as a memo board, jewelery bowl or door stopper - here we show with nine examples how versatile concrete can be.

Stool made of concrete

Picture above: mix concrete, pour a layer about 4 cm thick into a plastic bucket, let it harden for one day. If the first layer is dry, fill another 4 cm thick layer in the bucket. Three round logs (30 cm long, Ø 3.5 cm, hardware store) at equal intervals in the mass stuck. Pour a 6 - 7 cm thick concrete layer into the bucket, adjust stool legs if necessary. After 3 - 4 days, the stool is cured and the bucket can be cut open. Paint stool legs.

Concrete bowl made of concrete

Pour the concrete mass into a plastic bowl until just below the edge ?. Put in a smaller container and weigh with stones. Allow the concrete to harden and cut the shapes with the cutter. Paint the interior of the concrete shell with acrylic paint.

Concrete doorstop self-made

Pour half of the concrete into a 1.5 l PET bottle. Cut after 48 hours and paint a strip of paint on the concrete. Using the masonry drill drill a hole in a bulge of the bottom of the bottle, thread a cord with a "stop" sign and knot it.

Concrete memo board for the kitchen

Rubber bands hold notes on the memo board in place. For this, pour concrete into a silicone baking pan. Once the mass is a little firmer, put wooden skewers in the corners and edges. Press the board out of the mold after drying. Pull rubber band through the holes, knot on the back.

Pour concrete flowerpots yourself

Arranged in a group, the planters form a small garden landscape. As casting molds for concrete, take plastic containers, eg. B. of food packaging. For the planting hole, press a smaller container weighted with stones into the center. Remove after curing.

Glass coasters made of concrete

Thanks to the small concrete coasters, water rims on the table are a thing of the past: pour concrete into a round shape (eg the lid of a cheese box). Cut the mold after drying, and paint the coasters with white or colored acrylic paint.

Whether as a paperweight or a table decoration - the little figures are simply pretty to look at. This is how it works: pour concrete mixture into silicone molds for ice cubes. Let it dry and press it out of the molds. Decorate with acrylic paint as desired.

For concrete pouring you need: Portland cement, quartz sand, bowl, water, vessel, cutter

1. Mixing: Portland cement and quartz sand (both from the hardware store) in equal portions in a large bowl.

2. Stirring: Add water gradually and mix until the concrete has a pudding-like consistency.

3. Pour: Place concrete in a plastic container, tap the bottom of the table to avoid air bubbles.

4. Curing: Allow concrete to cure for one to three days, depending on its thickness. Then cut the vessel with a cutter.
