Cocoa, we love it - in any form. Cakes and biscuits, chocolates and other sweets - hardly any other sin we like as much as cocoa. What few people know: The cultivation of cocoa is tough, the working conditions also. Not infrequently, children have to help on the plantations. "They are beaten, driven to work and closely guarded by the plantation owners, " writes the initiative against child labor. Right now this will finally end up here!

Three years ago, the Forum on Sustainable Cocoa was founded. It currently consists of 60 companies, associations, federal ministries, research institutions and non-governmental organizations and is primarily committed to improving the working and living conditions of cocoa farmers and their families. Now , the ALDI Süd and ALDI Nord corporate groups are also campaigning for more sustainability in cocoa cultivation .

In international comparison, Germany is one of the largest import countries of cocoa. With the promotion of ALDI, the share of sustainably produced cocoa products on the German market is set to increase further. In English, we can look forward to fair chocolate in the future. And snack on a piece of this incredibly delicious Death by Chocolate.
