Exclusive to THE NEW

He is the voice of serious news, but behind the scenes his family heart beats! Marc Bator (36) is very different than you think. Of course, he is the reputable Tagesschau spokesman. But when he talks about his wife and two daughters, he reveals a completely different side ... In the exclusive interview with THE NEW, Marc Bator shows himself completely private ...

What is the best balance for serious news life for you?

Marc Bator: Of course the family to be with the children ... I always say: normality. Sitting in iced coffee, playing longhopping with my daughter, meeting friends, having fun, that's a great balance.

How did you and your wife get together?

Marc Bator: We are both Hanoverians who got to know each other in Hamburg. I also worked as a speaker before the news, talked a lot of advertising - and she was busy in a recording studio and always had to book me. And so you got to know each other and then someday also love.

Ever wanted to start a family?

Marc Bator: No. I also had quite different times. Where I spent a long time looking for a partner, or where I really enjoyed my bachelor life. I have not always been an absolute friend of marriage and partnership. So I enjoy that twice now. Today my family is my favorite program.

Do your children sometimes see you on TV?

Marc Bator: My youngest daughter is now getting actively involved for the first time that her dad is on TV. Now she was quite surprised, because we looked at a recording, and there my youngest said: Dad, dad. And then I said: wait, Jodie, I'm here, how does that work? She was confused. My older one was recently approached by a friend of mine who said, "I know your father." Her answer: "Oh, everybody knows that."

Another question away from family life - to your suits. How many hang in your wardrobe?

Marc Bator: suits twenty to thirty. Shirts almost fifty. And ties - around the fifty. And we also have to buy this wardrobe ourselves.
