Gilded picture frames look classy. We show you two variants - with gold leaf and with color tassel - with which you can enhance your frame.
You need this for gilding the picture frame with gold leaf:
- 1 old frame laying milk (eg from Efco, craft shop)
- Gold leaf (eg from Rico design; craft shop)
- Brush for applying the laying-on milk
- very soft brush
- Toilet paper or very soft rag
It's that easy:
1. Apply the laying-on milk with a brush and wait 20 minutes.
2. If the surface is very absorbent, repeat procedure 1. again.
3. Carefully remove the sheet metal from the package and place it on the pretreated frame with a soft brush. Carefully smooth.
4. Allow the frame to dry for approx. 2 hours and then gently brush off the excess gold leaf remnants with a soft cloth (soft toilet paper too!).
You need this for gilding with color paste:
- Gold paste (eg "Inka-Gold", available in the craft shop or eg at www.idee-shop.de):
- 1 old picture frame
- Brush, sponge or soft cloth
And that's how easy it is:
1. Apply the paste to the frame with a sponge, brush or soft cloth (depending on frame embellishment and desired effect) and allow to dry.
