One of the earliest signs of Alzheimer's is disorientation. Anyone who has problems finding familiar ways is at risk.

Are you afraid of someday getting Alzheimer's? Then you are like many people. A terrible idea that the brain will let us down. Scientists have now identified one of the earliest signs of a disease.

If you need to get your cell phone out of the known ways for a while and can not remember everyday routines, you might already show signs of Alzheimer's. Disorientation, according to the study, is one of the earliest signs of the disease.

The scientists at Washington University in St. Louis studied three groups of people. The first group was already suffering from Alzheimer's. Another group was suspected of having Alzheimer's, but was at a very, very early stage and the third group was the control group with healthy people. Task was to go through a labyrinth on a computer program. The second group in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease had significant problems with this task.

Scientist Denise Head explained that the study was of course not very meaningful. Nevertheless, orientation is an apparently very early indication that the patient may be suffering from Alzheimer's. This is especially important so that early treatment options can be better applied.
