In 2014, the Society for German Languages admitted 383 new first names. Rainbow, Sammilian and Nelvana - the trend is for the unusual.
Some have only one, the other two and some even three first names. For several years unchallenged in first place: Sophie and Marie, Maximilian and Paul. Boring or beautiful? The German language society reveals: The trend is going to the unusual. Similar to the word of the year 2014.
Ismawanto, Norbu or Savelij - the first names are getting crazier. Not infrequently, parents come up with their name ideas at the registry office resistance. If mothers and fathers insist on their first name suggestions, they must be submitted to the German Language Society . In 2014, the Association received 455 inquiries - 85% were confirmed. The proportion of female, male and neutral names is evenly distributed among the 383 new given names in 2014 .

Jounis, Shakur and Hafiz as well as Cait, Renay and Rainbow Half of the 2014 first names originated in foreign languages. Particularly popular: names from the Arabic and Anglo-American area.
Frea, Loona and Filien are variants of well-known names and have therefore been confirmed without exception.
Lio, Vea, Letty, Neeli, Jothylakshmi, Saliana and Sammilian are short forms, nicknames, compositions, extensions and entanglements of proven names.
Suma, Nelvana, Rionella Also own creations of the parents have made it. Prerequisite: The structure of a first name must be recognizable.
