Desperate attempt to flush money into the coffers

It has to be money! In their attempt to supplement the dilapidated public purse, the Greeks are now no longer stopping to sell off state estates and cultural heritage. Also, the Tatoi Palace of King Constantine II (72) is now being sold.

The last riots in Greece have once again shown how bad it is financially for the Greeks. A "sell-out" is to flush money into the coffers. For example, the Tatoi Palace is soon going into the "Sale", reports the British "Express". Also, airports, roads, beaches and even overseas diplomatic facilities should find new owners.

That emergency sales of this kind are often sold off in a bazaar atmosphere at the lowest prices is thereby accepted. Ex-King Constantine, exiled in London, has not yet commented on the sale of the Tatoi Palace .

The last years before Constantine was forced into exile in 1967, he spent near Athens at the royal family seat Tatoi. Since then, the cousin of Prince Charles (63) was not allowed to return - and it is questionable whether Konstantin will ever re-enter his former home after the sale.
