Every weekend work was on the plan

Since 1998, Monika Walden has been in the studio in Hannover on a regular basis every Sunday, explaining the environmental topics of the lottery, whose revenues benefit projects in the field of nature conservation and environmental protection. "But I always arrived on Saturdays to read the topics, " she says. At the same time she worked as an editor for the NDR in Kiel and as a radio presenter. Regulated free time did not exist. "I could never spend more than five days on holiday, with arrival and departure often left little time for recreation." There was no summer or winter break. "We tried that in the first year, but the program was so popular that the breaks were abolished".

130 million euros collected for good causes

It is a great success story: Over the 15 years, about 130 million euros could be collected for the environmental projects via the lottery. Monika Walden is pleased: "It's a nice feeling to have done his part to protect our environment and the animals".

The popular concept of the program: play, fun and exciting information. Above all the moderators provided for the fun. Michael Thürnau and Monika Walden liked to chatter and bet. Monika Walden wants to enjoy life and travel a lot

In the future Monika Walden wants to enjoy her free time and freedom and to travel a lot. "I love traveling, I want to go to New York, to Amsterdam, to Southern Europe, I have so much to do!" The beautiful woman loves traveling since she was young. "I've always been wanderlust, was a wild bumblebee and as a young girl hitchhiked through foreign lands."

Monika Walden became aware of the fact that life is not infinite by private blows of fate.

Relatives died and in her more and more thought space that one should not always postpone everything to later. "Many focus on earning money instead of enjoying life. I would like to do it differently now, I want to live fully in the here and now. After all, at the cemetery, the money does not bring anything anymore. "
